Suspension Failure when loaded up

Due to my height, I always have the suspension set to 'high' and change between the 'road' mode and 'dynamic pro'.
I have noticed that whenever I am loaded up and have my daughter on the back I always have a suspension failure warning pop up on the dash, it even popped up when I had no side panniers and only a rear box and my brother on the back (all this was on the way to Sids event in France). I understand that I am overloading the motor that 'winds up' the preload/height and have been looking at the TT-Tech webiste, i am just wondering, has anyone changed the rear shock/uprated the spring for when two up riding with alot of heavy luggage?

What weight is the suspension rated for and what do you weigh? Again what do you and your brother weigh?

I had Lucas at T-Tech fit a slightly stronger spring to the rear D-ESA unit of my 2017 GS when I sent him the shock for a service/rebuild a couple of years ago, works fine. I'm around 15.5st and my wife is around 10st , bike is used mainly two up. I just gave him our weights and he chose the spring rate. I usually leave it set to automatically adjust the pre-load, apart from when I'm two up with full luggage, then I set it to max.

Thanks, I suspect my spring is well under-rated. I am 6ft6 and 23ish stone, my daughter being 8ish stone and the luggage is not light either. I will probably uprate the whole unit to something better.

I'd look into weighing everything you might carry and what weight is mostly on the Bike so you get the best spring/damper set up.

The standard GS has a max weight of 465KG, with the Bike weighing 250KG. There's only room for 200KG for rider, pillion & luggage. ( add 20KG's to these numbers if you have the adventure version. )

If you are in the upper limits of this a higher spring rate is definitely needed along with the corresponding damper.

It seemed odd to me but has worked perfectly since.

I use the Tractive units on my RT1250. Excellent performance and supplied by Lukaz at TT.

6 Axis MCU & (Active) Suspension all configured and Managed by Software, sometimes the tolerances/paramters need to be adjusted, and that is done through Software Update (the SOS Error Message is a good example, the Cellular Signal Parameter was too narrow, so Unit would throw error, SW Release corrects (just takes 12 hours connected to the Mothership, because it can mean a big update

My bike had a big software update about a year ago - i doubt it is that and I also mentioned it to my dealer before going on the France trip and they told me to 'keep an eye on it' - but I suspect it is overloaded and the preload motor cannot cope with the weight. When I am back from my other solo jaunt next week, I will see if it still does it and then perhaps after that enquire with T-Tech about the best way forward to eliminate this issue.
