Hi folks,
I'm looking to upgrade my suspension prior to heading off to Iceland for a month in July. To my mind the options are:

:bounce1 WP
:bounce1 HperPro
:bounce1 Ohlins

Does this parish have any thoughts on which is best, pros/cons, etc?
I've had a good quote from Harris for Ohlins, but the front only provides rebound damping, no compression. If possible, I'd like to have both at both ends.

Thoughts, experiences?

Cheers,
Fin.

PS: I did a search and only found limited (old) discussion here on this topic.

I'll make a prediction.....

Those with WP will recomend WP.

Those with Ohlins will recomend Ohlins.

Those with Hyperpro will recomend Hyperpro

I had Ohlins on mine ( bought off this site second hand) and the difference vs OE was remarkable. It was like a magic carpet ride. If I was riding by feel rather than by looking at the speedo, I was going 20 to 30 mph faster everywhere thean with stock.Yellow springs are soooo cool.:D

Cheers, Shurv - you don't happen to have the Ohlins model numbers to hand do you? Harris have quoted for a couple of different models, one of which is emulsion based, the other oil. Just trying to get a handle on what the options are.

Kind regards,
Fin.

i too can vouch for Ohlins, i replaced front & back on my GSA 18 months ago and the difference both on and off road is noticable.

the servicing is expensive but the improved quality of ride is defo worth paying the extra for, in my honest opinion.

currently saving up to get both serviced :blast

i am trying to get my OEM front shock spring upgraded with a Hyperpro spring but am struggling to find someone who can swap them over, i have heard that the hyperpro spring replacement kits you can get from Motorworks are good value for the difference they make too :thumb2

...but i've got wilbers on my 1200.

they were a lot cheaper, and nearly as good :D

I've had Ohlins and Wilburs on mine, and the original WP ones.

I took two sets off though, as the ride was rock hard........:blast

The biggest difference is in the rear shock.I fitted an Ohlins there and the difference in ride quality/feel was noticeable.
Fitting an Ohlins to the front made minimal difference as the Telelever design seems (imo) to mask any improvements.
Nice yellow springs though.:thumb
Expect to pay about £90-100 per shock for servicing once in a while.
Mine went for 8 years/60000 miles before being rebuilt.
