Being sold on behalf of my good friend of 50 years.
Phil has been a motor technician as long as I've known him.
And ran a very successful motor repair workshop.
specialising in Italian cars from vintage to modern including total restorations, from Fiats to Ferrari's & all other Italian stallions.
And a life long biker.

The bike details...

Suzuki T500 Titan
Registered 15-05-1974
3 owners from new
5594 miles only
Purple & Gold.

This was purchased from Bonhams auctions on the 20-12-2023.
As a' barn find '.
Purchased by previous owner in February 1978.
Then sat unused for 45 years.
Mileage then was 4420 miles.
Substantially in original condition.
Albeit needing a full restoration.

Philip did a full nut & bolt restoration over the winter of 2023.
Including...
Media blasted & powder coated frame.
Full engine strip & rebuild.
New rims, spokes, brakes, cables, rear shocks, indicators, rear light, number plate, battery, inner tubes & AVON roadrider tyres, seat cover, handlebars, hand grips & levers.
Front fork rebuild
All brightwork was re-chromed.
Engine / gearbox cases vapour blasted & polished.
wiring renewed as needed.

Full fuel tank & side panels were bare metal prepared, using new tank stickers.
Professionally painted & lacquered.

And no doubt more that he's forgot about or not informed his wife about...😁

No corners or expense were spared in the rebuild.
A very sympathetic rebuild was carried out with a view to using the bike rather than becoming a garage queen.
Over 1000 miles have been covered since, its been totally reliable.
A set of small LED spotlights have been added to aid night riding.

We did 100 miles today & used 8 litres of fuel = 58 MPG at UK speed limits on a mixture of A roads.

Not concourse as was built to be used but in lovely condition as the pictures indicate.

Very easy to start, first time everytime today.
And certainly no lack of power & handles superbly.
Especially now its running modern tyres & rebuilt/new suspension.

Located Newbury Berkshire- M4 junction 13 - A 34 5 minuets away.

For sale at £3500.
Which is way way below what it cost to buy & rebuild this cracking bike.
Hundreds of hours were put in to complete.

A good honest bike, that runs like a Swiss watch..
Especially as it's 52 years young.

Rear rack & bag not included as are. borrowed.

Please PM me & I'll put you in touch with Philip.
Thanks Ash.

YouTube video.
Taken today, excuse the unedited end.
An Oscar i will not be awarded..🤦‍♂️

Nice. Had one many years ago. Has a surprising amount of torque at lower revs for a two stroke.

Lovely bike, GLWS.

Fond memories of getting lift from London to Cheshire on the back of a GT500 as a student; very similar (same?) motor.

Very torquey, 85MPH peeling off the M1 onto the M6 was vivid, as was finding 3 broken spokes in the rear wheel when we arrived!

I kow he's not everyone's cup of tea but Mark Pulling did a review on a T500 Titan a few months ago if there's anyone interested in this bike, but hasn't ridden one before
