I have now been across Switzerland from Basel to Lake Como four times in the last two months and was amazed to find that the Zumo still knew where it was in all the tunnels............even the 13km of St Gottard, how this works I have no idea. The speed readout doesn't work but the rest seems to! When I came through on Sunday last four times I lost satellite reception right close to the end!

Does anyone know why it seems to work and why reception would be lost when it was? It's not a problem, I'm just intrigued!

cheers,

Maybe it just guesses based on the speed and direction when you enter the tunnel.

Wot he said :thumb

That's why it shows you a constant speed. It knows what road you're on and it knows what speed you were doing when it lost the sat signal (when you entered the tunnel). 99/100 it's about right when you get near to the end of the tunnel and it regains the sat signal.

I got pulled to the examination hall by customs at Dover today and signal was lost almost immediately! Sniffer dog all over the truck, the perils of travelling without a lady in the passenger seat, examined twice in as many months when on my own!

cheers,

Just done Basle to Lake Como again in each direction and this time went back to 'MENU' in the tunnels to see the level of satellite reception and of course it was ZERO, there is no logic to which tunnels it maintains a map and which tunnels have 'satellite reception lost' but it very quickly regains a map when out of the tunnel!

cheers,
