I've one of the accelerator modules from sol2.be and was looking to make a switch for it.

My question is - will switching it on/off whilst riding (a drop of 20*C) cause an error on the CANBUS? Anyone else have a switched setup?

Thanks in advance,

S

PS was reading this - http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?p=16299105 - in an attempt to find answer but wanted to check for real world experience.

Question is "Why would you want to switch it at all?"

I take it you mean to run a loop around the outside of the resistance ?

It will probably think you have entered a very cold place and adjust fuelling as necessary

- Switched to assist fuel economy but also it's a mod there would appear to be little long term evidence for on these bikes (I appreciate the general concept is not at all new) so i'm not certain as to engine / cat effects and wish to look after these two. It does make things a smoother when doing tricky roads but mine is also a commuter so don't need it all the time. Essentially i'd like the best of both worlds without having to lift panels to do the change.

- yes

- My concern is that the canbus system reads the immediate drop as an error and switches off the part. It recently did this when the potentiometer failed in wet weather. It resulted in a trip to the dealer to reset it even though mechanically, once dry, there was nothing wrong with the part.

No fault codes will be generated. I would just leave it in place rather than fanny around switching though.
