System 6 owners, how's the anti-fog on your visor?

I bought a system 6 helmet a couple of weeks ago, and was looking forward to the antifog properties of the pinlock insert. I've had Fog City inserts on the visors of my last couple of helmets and they've been brilliant.

However, the insert on the system 6 seems to be awful, with the bottom half of the visor fogging up as soon as I put the helmet on and taking an age to clear. It's been so bad that riding home in the dark I've had to ride with the visor up which, as you can imagine, isn't the most comfortable thing to do when it's cold and drizzling

So, how are you finding the anti-fog properties of your visor, perhaps I've just got a duff one. At this rate I may take it back and get them to exchange the visor, either that or see if fog city to pinlock versions.

Thanks,

Justin.

I've not really worn mine since Christmas but when i was riding it worked well, never really fogged up. Hopefully riding to work tomorrow and it speaks of being cold and damp so will let you know...:thumb2... Also had pinlock on my Arai and that was brilliant, until the seal went then as expected it didnt work :blast

Same issue as you Justin, mine'll be going back as soon as I can get to the dealer..

System 6 pinlock seems to be ok - however my system 5 with fogcity was better. The pinlock, while not fogging up dramatically has had small areas of misting whereas the fogcity just behaved - always.

I have probably ridden for 10 to 12 hours with the new system 6 in the last week or so. Its much lighter and quieter than the system 5 and the pinlock does what it should but time will tell (for me) whether its better or at least as good as the fogcity.

I thought the visor on the system 6 was double glazed so it doesn't happen?

Had one for a couple of months now in reasonable weather it's fine, but being a "speccy git" this cold weather has had it misting up, so I ride with it partially open plus I always have the chin vent open.:thumb

I've ridden with it in all weathers including rain, snow and fog and had no misting problems at all.

Had mine a few months now, no issues with the visor fogging up although I always leave the chin gaurd vent open. I find the visor fogs up if I don't do that.

had a system 6 for a few days now and its great, had to take out the pinlock and put it back in to get the seal right so now its fricken awesome,
but
anyone else have problems with the top vent letting in too much air and water onto your head?
was out in the pissing rain for most of the day today and ended up with more rain on the inside of the visor than the outside!

plugged the vents on the inside of the visor for the mo to see what happens,

cheers

I'm on my second System 6 - the visor rachet fell to bits on the first one

The replacement helmets' antifog is not as good as the original lid though. The visor insert is a bit creased at the ends where it contacts the mounting pegs. The first one was a good, flat fit, tight against the inner face of the main visor.

Am I correct in thinking that the mountings are a cam-type peg? So can I improve the fit by rotating the peg to hold the insert tight to the main visor without creases? :nenau I haven't had time to fiddle with it yet!

yea the pins for the pinlock are cams so a small flat head screwdriver will turn em so that they push the insert about so it fits close to the visor,

new 6

Jesus and i thought my schuberth s1 was bad but the new 6 sounds just as bad if not worse!!! maybe i wont be buying after all :blast :toungincheek

Thanks Jonyboy, I'll try to have a look at it this weekend.

Bose - don't be put off! I'm impressed with the System 6. I think once I get the visor sorted, it'll be great. The first one was fine until the ratchet problem. The venting is really good in hot weather (what's that?!:)), it's very quiet, lightweight, has a large visor aperture, plush inside, etc. No leaks with mine. Sunvisor is ace for tunnels, etc. I'd buy another.

I've been using mine for a couple of months now. No problems with the helmet at all (once I'd bought some different specs that I can actually feed between the padding and my head).

Are you using the chin guard extensions :nenau. It says in the manual to remove this and open the visor vent if inner visor is misting up. Try that before you take it back.

Took it back and the bmw guys looked at it, seems the misting was between the visor and the pinlock insert. They took it apart, cleaned and adjusted the pinlock pins and now it's much better. Still a small area doing the same, which obscures the clocks.

Going to have another go at adjusting it myself and if I can't fix it I'll take it back for replacement. Seems that you have to get the pinlock insert sealed against the visor all round the edge, if that doesn't happen then you get the misting up that I'm seeing.
