System case dismantling

One of my plastic system cases from my 1150r is very difficult to open and close and I am waiting for something to break.
Can the mechanism be serviced?

You have to drill out the pop rivets, but they do come apart for repairs or maintenance...

I'd give it a good dowsing of silicon spray as a starter - worth a shot before you start taking it to bits.

I've tried spraying the guts where ever I could get a fine nozzle into but didn't make any difference!

Think I will have to drill out rivets then to clean the mechanism.

They don't fetch much money these days - I'd be tempted to put a wanted ad in FS&W to see if someone's got an odd one hanging about in the garage...
