t/tech cockpit tidy

Can anyone advise how to fit this bit of kit. I don't speak German, so the "instructions" are no use to me. I'm hanged if I can understand how it goes behind the clocks.

Like this perhaps. The extrea holes for the switches were done by me for Autocom and GPS, since I don't like em' permanently live.

touratech cockpit thingy & Motorrad Garmin mount

JohnP - useful pic - I too have struggled with the German instructions that (even after literal translation by a non-tech non-biking German) are far briefer than those on the Touratech US website.

I see you have the Motorrad mounting for the Garmin 2610 as do I. How did you conform the Touratech mounting with the Motorrad mounting? They both seem to compete for the same bit of OE frame. Are the screws by some happy coincidence the same size?

I aim to fit my Gerbing heated clothing control on the dash via a Nippy Norman fuse box to get round the CANBUS habit of shutting it down from the OE socket because of the weedy alternator output. I hope the new uprated GSA alternator will be useable as a retro fit.

It's not a Motorrad mount. It's home made. It puts the Garmin more over the instruments and slightly higher to allow the screen to be lowered to it's lowest position, which the Motorrad one does,nt. It was moved closer and higher so as not to obscure the top of the tacho.

It's fabricated from stainless steel, TIG welded and vapour blasted. The holes are positioned to coincide with the cockpit tidy and it does the job brilliantly. I Don't have any pics of the bracket at present, but will try to post some in the next couple of days and possibly a drawing.

Incidentally, the screen is standard BMW equipment.

Just found this from a June post on the other TT cockpit tidy thread (I presume RogerJ triumphed as there was no follow up post:

Torque, just got one of those TT cockpit kits. Just started looking over the kit. Looks like good gear but be aware that if you have a MotorradConcepts GPS mount it looks like you will have to drill out the Touratek bit where it attaches to the plate. The TT part has smaller holes but with a bit of fiddling (drilling out) it should work so that the MotorradConcepts supplied bolts can fit through the TT piece. Fine if you don't mind a bit of fiddling. If I hit any serious problems doing the fitting will post again. Cheers!

The stock screen + Tobinators actually allows a reasonable slope with the Motorrad mounting so I will persevere with some fiddling and drilling of the TT mounting plate.
