I've noticed that some of us are finding that the various tab options are not always compatible with the bikes hardware

The Nav hoop on the LC varients is a 12mm bar, so there is some standardisation for 3rd party mounts

However there range of movement up / down is limited,

If you have an older model GS, the std kombi hoop, offers little height options,

adding the GSA nav hoop gives a bit more height but still means you need a Ram or other mount to bring the tab into your preferred view range.

The small amps block that pops up on ebay & similar sites has the wrong profile for the GSA nav hoop and dosent give the height clearance for the kombi

Ive seen that the screen hoop for the GSA extended screen has a horizontal bar which appear to be way higher than the GSA nav hoop,

But the drawback to that is that it is only good if you have that type of screen -

Currently i'm using an ultimate addons ram ball via a ram arm to fix the tablet, mounted on the crossbrace for my Givi airflow screen

Downside is, if your determined, its just a matter of unscrewing the ram mount and its off

I had an idea for a mounting plate that may work with the amps type block

the height is controlled by moving it up or down on the amps block.

The front back is the issue, i was thinking that if another half of the amps block (or slimmer slices ) were added you could then move the tab fwd or back as you wanted

The theory is it eliminates any extra parts between the mount and the tablet, and reduces any unwanted vibrations

(it also makes it a tad harder to half inch)

what do you think ? and feel free to take the piss for my back of the envelope sketch

The holes on the outer plate would need to be matched to your tab brackets current hole spacing

I'll see if i can get some plate over the next week or so and see if i can make a working version

I've designed and 3D printed a "plate" that rises my Brodit mount up above the TFT and as it is a 135° V shape it brings it forward as well - I can put a picture up if needed.

Sorry for the delay Santa-2512.

I am currently looking at this set up on my bike and would really like one of those brackets, I’ll pm you?
Would it work with these items or do you have a list of the bits you have used to mount your tablets? I’m looking at these-

Asudaro Motorcycle Gps Navigation Mount, 12Mm-16Mm Aluminum Handlebar Navigation Bracket Holder Compatible With R1200Gs Lc Adv R1250Gs S1000Xr Crf1000L

Brodit Device holder 739003 | Made in Sweden | for tablets - Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 2 SM-T390/SM-T395, Galaxy Tab Active 3 SM-T570/SM-T575, Galaxy Tab Active 2 SM-T390/SM-T395

I use this to mount the bracket to the GPS bar, (it's been available at Aliexpress for longer than a certain British company has been offering it at more than double the price).

I actually have two of them as the top half unclips from the 12mm bar fixing bit and I can easily swap between my Brodit/tablet setup and my Garmin XT.

All the bits, the bar mount, the Brodit and my extension bracket have standard Amp spaced holes so are mix and match.
