It's obvious innit?
You go at 60 unless you're overtaking when you then do 80.
If you tried overtaking someone at the same speed you'd never get past.

Not wanting to get too serious.......

.........but isn't there the seed of a valuable 'sticky' in the Irish section here? Out yesterday, I came upon at least two incidences of such rediculous road markings (accepting that Aidans photo is just a speed sign that has been turned around) and we could do a lot worse than to document them. I suspect its not just an Irish thing, but we certainly seem to have more than our fair share.

If we had such a library of cases of crazy road markings (and related stupidity) then perhaps we could bring them to the attention of the Dept of Environment, or even at a local level, the County/City council concerned to see if they can be corrected............I suspect Og has some experience/advice on this .......?

Not as bad as the previous example but in a country where speed is monitored with commendable zeal on dual carriageways in the interests of road safety (not revenue generation) perhaps some of the unintended revenue could pay for a person with a hedge clippers or am I missing something?

P S while they are at it they could sweep up some of that loose gravel that is liberally dispensed and perhaps stop painting those warning yellow bands so deep into the corners as to have motorcyclists bank over on greasy paint check out the rail bridge on the Cahir Tipperary road.

I'm off to bed now:rob
