Recently went to a tv package with the abve all ok, i9ncluded was a wireless hub I'm not on wireless but my partner has been trying to get her topshiba lap top to connect no joy. She was on BT wireless at home for years all ok T T help line useless anyone got any bright ideas?. (already had the one about throwing it out the window not well received!) .

Could be down to many things.
1. Is it turned on (you can turn wireless off on the box if you're not using it)?
2. Is it transmitting its SSID? (some cards have problems if the SSID isn't transmitted for first time use)
3. Do the SSIDs match up between the computer and the box?
4. Are the encryption methds used the same (WAP / WAP2 / WPA etc, not all wireless cards can do all encryption methods)?
5. Is the same passkey used (some ask for a set of Hex characers, some use a phrase)
6. Is the same level of encryption used (32 bit, 48 bit, 128 bit?)
7. Is the hub set to reject connections from unrecognised MACs?

That's a starter for you anyway.
 
Hi

It would help if you gave the model number of the wireless router they supplied, how you have set it up, and the error message you get when you try and connect the laptop.
