Tank bag recommendation

I would try before you buy if you can as a riding pal tried a couple of quick release bags on his R12 G/S Enduro and they fouled the handlebars

Thats why I went with the strap option so I could set the bag in a position where it didn't foul
Do you know which ones he/she tried?

I dont but I will ask the question
He tried the SW Motech Pro DayPack and the Wunderlich Click Bag 6

The SW Motech would fit with the extended ring arm (GN12) shown in Wessie's link but he didn't like the position that put the tank bag in and it required replacing the OEM filler cap surround with the SW Motech one

Even with my Mosko Moto bag I have to set the bag back from the handlebars so I can get full lock

That’s the bit I missed originally. Looking at the instructions I think it might just work
But, like your buddy, I’m not convinced about the bag location once the adapter is fitted
Might just have to take a run over to our SW dealer & have a look

there is quite a range of movement on the base of the SW Motech bag to bring it forward or back

on my V85, I quite like the offset base as it means the bars do not hit the bag on full lock and the bag does not obscure the display.

None of them, they're all a faff which is why i stopped using them.

the convenience outweighs the very minor faffage when fuelling. Having a small bottle of water and other odds and ends at hand means you can stop and not have to get off the bike to have a drink, clean a visor, take ibuprofen etc.

If you do have to have one then a tanklock is probably the easiest.

yes, I like the Givi tanklock bag latch best but I have the SW Motech on the V85 as the Givi ring fitment to the bike is more complicated.

+1 for Mosko Moto Nomax. Fitted to V85, V65, KTM 690 and Himalayan 411. The camelback pouch is great in this hot weather.

If the intention is to use a tank bag for "general day out storage" and your tail rack is empty ---
mount a tank ring flange on the tail rack -- tank bag benefits without filler problems.
With a flange on the tank as well for use with a small tank bag -- when there is big baggage on the tail rack.
works for me.

don't be shy about drilling new holes in tank rings -- or putting spacers under the ring to change the angle it sits at.

p.s. -- don't trust quoted volumes.
multiply the given LWH dimensions and see what capacity that gives (obviously crude because tank bags are not cubes) --
Givi dimensions always? give volumes greater, than what they rate the bag capacity at -- often twice.
I have never been able to work out how they give similarly sized bags different volumes--- and Givi never gave a sensible answer when i asked.

Givi UT810 Tanklocked for me. I have coded the key to my bike. Makes it so much easier. And this is great size.

I couldn’t see this bag listed on the Givi website for a R12 G/S . What bike do you have?
