Tank bag?

I've bought a tank bag 2nd hand and can't figure out what the 3 popper studs are for on the side.... am I missing something?? Anyone help?

One on the front and one on each side?

No, the three popper studs are in an inversed triangle on the side of the bag facing the saddle when it is fitted on the tank.... if you see what I mean.
It looks like there should be another component to the bag that attaches to these poppers.

Some versions have a removable pocket there. Mine does. I'd have thought that if the studs are there it should have the pocket!

Yep, it's a slightly different bag but that would probably be whats missing. Thanks for help.
