I need a small tank bag for my 12GSA to take my MP3, transciever, personal bits. The Baglux one I had in my 1150GSA was 8lt capacity and was great.

The standard BM bag for the 12GS is just too big and dosen't really fit the Adv due to the cross member on the bars. Also had a look at the Tourarech bag, but it was also too big and I hated the method of fastening to the tank (expected to stick velcro to the tank!!).

I'm currently waiting to have a look at the SW Motech bag.

Any other suggestions??? I don't like the Baglux tank cover for the 12GSA.:nenau

I have just got a SW Motech bag for my 06 1200gsa. Excellant bit of kit, very nicely made and just the size I wanted. Only problem is it won't fit because it fowls the cross bar on the GSA bars. The later 06&07 gsa's have different bars on them with a wider cross brace apparently, which causes problems fitting tank bags so be wary what you get. I have been told the BMW one won't fit either:nenau and having looked at my mates touratech one think that will foul the cross bar aswell.

I'd second the FAMSA recommendation ... tried 3 or 4 different bags last year just before 4-5 weeks away on the bike and came down on the FAMSA as simplest and best.

Fits well, doesn't move, not too big (ie. doesn't foul brace on handlebar), quite waterproof, easy to remove and carry.

Only minor gripes are/were that the clear window on top fogs in the rain, but I ride via the GPS now, so just irritating when I have notes, etc in there for guidance and the internal area of the bag whilst large enough for lots of crap could probably do with a divider or two, maybe even a repositionable velcroed one to stop stuff moving around.

Thanks for putting that link up Silvermog. Looks like your GSA is not fitted with the newer bars/cross brace? Having looked I think the Famsa bag will also foul the cross bar on the newer set up:nenau. Has anyone out there used this bag on the 1200GSA with the new bars&cross bar?
Many thanks.

12GSA Tank Bags

Thanks for the replies and advice guys.

Had a try at the SW Motech bag, the contoured one, it didn't fit because of the cross bar, but I thought it was a very tasty piece of kit, pity they wouldn't re-design it for the GSA.

This Famac bag looks ok, is it not a bit futtery trying to zip it on and off when you need petrol though??:mmmm

Famsa bag is fine for unzipping, as you only need to undo half and hinge it about the other side :thumb2

Thanks Blackal,

Sounds like I may have hit on a winner.:D

I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I would like to see one in the flesh, so to speak, before I buy over the internet. I'll see if I can track down a local supplier.
