Anyone fitted tank pads on a 12gs? Just wondered if they offer any real protection and if they look ok. I've had them on all my other bikes but there doesn' t seem to be a great choice for the 1200. The riding position doesn't seem to rub the tank much but I could be wrong!!

I've got a Motrax Rubber Ronnie on mine....

Schtum, what type of tank bag to you have ?. Is that a Famsa ?

I am after a tank bag but don't want to glue velcro on the tank and whist the Famsa looks like it might do the trick , attaching the bag to the harness with a zip sounds very fiddly.

I am just back from the TT which is the first tie I've done a trip for years with no tank bag ..... I NEED A TANK BAG !

I had a look at every GS I saw on the IOM but the few which had tank bags were either BMW , Touratech and one of the SW Motech clip-on ones. I had resigned myself to getting a Baglux again .... which I have had over the years and I know are good if a bit ugly and expensive.

No, it's a Hein Gericke Tuareg with detachable tank panniers which I've never used. I don't think they do this model any longer. It does appear to have some similarities with the Famsa one so it might well be made by the same people......:nenau

Hein Gericke do a nice clear spine protector for about a fiver. I've used them on the last three bikes I've owned. :thumb2

I'd take a picture, but you can't see it..........:D
