Hi guys iv stripped off my tank to take to paint, im going to change the quick disconnects first question is how the hell do you remove those hose clips? Iv removed the sender etc and had to disconnect the two hoses that come down from the filler neck, does it mater which way these go on ? Should i replace the ruber O rings on the sender and filler neck assembly? Wheres the best place to get some new hose (i had to cut the crossover pipe to get the clips pulled) and new stainless clips..cheers guys first time iv had one of these apart and way more of a ball ache than id thought...

Hi - I used a dremel with a little cutting wheel on to cut the clips off, you should use good quality jubilee clips when refitting.

The two small hoses are drains, I dont suppose it matters which way round they are re-connected, but I like leave as was found.

Do replace the o-rings and you can get all the bits from the usual suspects, Motobins, Motoworks and J Sherlock - and you should think about replacing the internal fuel hoses and both fuel filters while you are in there !!

I've prised some clips open with a screw driver, others I've cut with a junior hack saw. I would replace the large o ring (plate to tank). Recently bought some nitrile tubing for the external fuel drain pipe from Planet Silicone on ebay (item number 140693835989).They do various sizes and cheaper than BMW. Hopefully someone will come along to say whether nitrile can be submerged in petrol in the tank. Hope this is of some help.

Small screwdriver inserted into the "Loop" of the hose clips and twist open.
The screwdriver needs to be a quality item, not a cheapo shite metal jobbie, otherwise it'll bend.
