tank wrapping, know anyone ?

Taking the panels off is really easy. I've just done it to do a wrap on mine tonight. Just cleaned and sipped them with surgical spirit. Off to have a bash at it now.

Pics to follow?

That does look good :bow

I had the interior trims wrapped with 3m Matt carbon in my car. Place in Northolt West London did a cracking job. Might swing the bike by for a quote :thumb

Er no pics. Boy that stuff is evil to get right. I think on flat car like surfaces it would be much easier. But on compound curves with added contours, forget it. For the happy armature anyway.

Now I've got it all back on again.

Next idea is the spray plastic. Least I know how to spray. And if that looks rubbish I'll just get them resprayed.

That's what I did on my current GS, but on the GSA it'll either be take the tank off, or a hell of a lot of masking up, which I don't want to do.

I've bought the 3M in titanium black, cheap it ain't
If I feel brave I'll have a go at doing my tank next week and if I don't I'll get someone to do it for me, as for taking the panels off there's only a handful of screws to undo, shouldn't be too difficult ;)

Take the plastics off. The GSA black parts would look good in matt carbon though the beak extension is complicated.

I did manage to wrap something, after an epic fail with the tank cover.

Baby steps. . .

I like that nutty :thumb2 how it should have looked originally. The blue flows nicely as does the black. Will be taking mine to the wrappers to get a quote :D

Let me know how you get on, as that'll be on the list when mine comes in September.:thumb

Ive found a local guy to me who has been recommended, when i get mine in a few weeks i will get it done and update you all

What they don't make clear when selling you wrapping film is that the wrap is much, much easier if you use a heat gun to warm the vinyl as it's applied. :thumb
