Tankbag recommendations for 1200GS?

Kept my old one (little Wunderlich) from my RT. It holds the stuff I need for a short trip. Cheap and elegant solution:

Finally decided on the TT bag, which has arrived. And Maplins has been visited for power options. A bag of bits is at the ready for some amature welding! I think I'll bring power up from the battery to a small plug at the crotch end of the bag. Pass it into one of the side pockets where I'll have another plug to recieve it, which will have a lead that passes through a small puncture hole into the main compartment and a std cig lighter female socket finish ready for gadgetry.

Comments on the grippy underside marking the tank concern me.

Do I need to cut a grip mat underlay for the entire footprint, or just the bits under the plate of securing velcro at the crotch and the leather stuff at teh front zip end?

Thanks for the advice and guidance.

Another option. Liked the bm bag but also wanted a baglux cover.
So took the bottom off an old bag and fastened it onto my bm bag.
Used it for 9 months now and have recently fitted a power supply to the bag using a dirt cheap board socket from maplins.

Here is where the power goes in.

I've thought long and hard (there's a first!) about tank bags and come to the conclusion that they were not for me on the 1200.

The vision thing is a pain - i like to see the clocks and my GPS is on top of the fork bracket.

Filling up is a pain if you have to take the bag off each time

Marking the tank is a pain.

Waterproofing is a pain.

I went this route:

Leaves the bike with you, waterproof, 11 litres capacity, no filling probs, no tank marking.

All good points which I also consider in my move to a tank bag. But as devils advocate doesn't a hip bag have a lot of the same issues raised against the use of a back pack?

By the way, whilst trying to decide I found that Blacks do a waterproof hip bag by Crag Hopper for £19.99. Can't recall the capacity but slightly smaller by the looks.
