We sell Autoglym tar remover and the more anal bike/car owners we know including pro valet guys say it works well... There is a pro product out there that is supposed to be "the best" and the tar just runs off but it seems to be only available through the trade circuit... Autosmart Tradis is one I have had pro cleaners wetting themselves about...

Thanks for all the helpful comments. i'd run out of WD 40 so I used GT85 which did the trick and I then washed it off with water. I've got a fair bit of Autoglym products for bike and car but not the tar remover.
