Admittedly this is not the most exciting question but seeing as my bike never has a tax disk holder on it, as it was a foreign import, where's the best place to attach it on a 2004 1150gsa. Also can anyone recommend a tax disk holder that doesn't leak?

Thanks.

Hi i have a 1150gs and my tax disc holder is mounted on the exhaust silencer mounting bolt, it's a halcyon brand been on the bike since new in 2003 with no probs.
Regards Paul.

By law it has to be at the front of the vehicle.

And risk the £30 pound fine?

Over 30 years without a problem so far. :D

They can tell if you're taxed without seeing it. I service serving police officers bikes who don't dispaly their tax disc. I love the modern world.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I agree....but, the offence is 'failing to display' and carries a £30 fine. Don't get me wrong, I 'serve' and don't always display.

:D

As long as it is in front of the swinging arm mount any where you like but not the brake calliper bolts mine is on the front mudguard bolt
do a copy in the holder but keep the original in your wallet in case you meet a grumpy traffic cop but it will be on the PNC system that you are taxed so they usually dont give you a tug not had a problem in five years now

Now if this had been posted in the 1200 section there'd have been all hell to pay......

And you Mr K are very easy ....... :ymca

No one bothers taxing their gay 1150 bikes anymore, so dont worry about it. And also make sure you park on yellow lines as much as possible, you will be fine. Really, trust me, I have a 1200 GSA.

...and there in a nutshell is the difference between easy-going 1200 owners and elitist Nazi 11** fascist scumbags.

:D

It's taken more than 4 years and constant monitoring of the 1100/1150 section for you to be able to post that. :D

Hi Green Boy,

Very difficult to get hold of a waterproof tax disk holder, just wrap the tax disk in cling film before putting it in the holder.:beerjug:
