TCK80 mileage on R100s

Anyone got fairly accurate figures for how far they have got out of a rear?

Planning a jaunt down to Morocco and have used TCKs for years so want to second guess they'll make it for full return trip

Only figure I have is from our trip to South America when I got about 6200 miles out of a rear...on a VERY heavy two-up bike it wasn't 'exactly' legal at end

Not noted the tyre wear over the years, just change 'em.

Have an almost new Tourance on rear of this bike at moment, but do like the TCKs.

SWMBOs 100 has had TKC's on for 6000 odd miles now. It's been to the Pyranese and the Alps, plus some off roading and I reccon there's still another 3000 miles in the rear yet (I normaly get 10-11'000 from a rear TKC on my 1200). So it'll stay on for our trip down to southern France this year.

It depends entierly on your riding style really. Some finnish off TKCs in under three thousand miles. Others controle their right hand a little better In reallity, TKCs last as long as any other tyre. I had Annerkees on before the TKCs and those rears lasted 11000 too

Up to you really. Personnaly I'd chuck a new pair on and go for it

Well 6500kms (say 4,000 miles) 2-up to Morocco and back on and off road has left plenty of tread on rear (naturally front hardly worn in comparison).

Anyone got a new TCK on rear that cound measure thread depth so I have some idea how much wear I have had on this last trip?

we are still talking about tyres arn't we?? Not some old school wiltshire swingers

-rear 12 000 kms with some off-road
-front 15 000 kms also with some off-road (including 3000 kms off road in Marrocos)

the front tire still has some tread left but the saw profile will probably force me to change it

finally, an answer

New TKC about 10mm after 4,000 mile trip to around and back mainly on-road, but few pistes and like down to 5mm (of course you don't run to zero under legal requirements). 2-up light luggage.

Thought I'd finish the thread in case anyone wants future reference
