I know the new watercooled is a step forward , but I think I'll keep my 2002 R1150GSA :D

NO problems , Just done 1400 miles round trip to the western isles of Scotland again , superb , not one switch gear issue , no clanking gears , well apart from the whole gearbox :thumby:

Onwards and upwards :)
I'll keep my 16K and put that towards my travels , USA in March , then , Norway and Sweden ....

If I want watercooled I'll piss in the tank

Although I may be tempted with the new GSA ,subject to 2 years reliability testing and then a free 5 year warranty ;) Aint gonna happen

I'm gonna buy a super ten :thumby:

What teething problems ive done 7800 miles and not had any issues, It gets used every day as my main form of transport to work. gearbox is fine switches are fine every thing works and it doesn't use oil. Along with thousands of other new owners.

Granted there seems to be a few people that have had parts replaced but you will get that with anything, even those in comparison to how many have been sold its only a very small amount.

looking at the forums from other countries it seems only the UK that are claiming there are problems. get yourself a test ride and check them out I think you will be surprised.

You haven't looked at adventure rider then? There are lots of posts with all the same problems as in the UK reported from the states. There is even a few whole engine replacements happened.

In general though I would agree with you and really do fail to see the point of the OP other than to stir things which is childish and pointless.

1. You recognise your current bike is a step back (several actually).:drool
2. You are still happy with the old 1150.:thumb
3. You can't afford a new GS AND a holiday.:(
4. You would like a GS on your terms.:rolleyes:

I have test rode the new LC , Yes it's a step forward technically for sure from my old 1150 GSA , Its night and day handling wise and responsiveness wise , compared to the old 1150 GSA of course , but build quality is no where near my old 1150 GSA. For me its not the step in the direction it needs to be ,to make me wanna change.
That was my point.. If the teething problems and the build quality can be improved when the new GSA is released then I may take another look and if I like it I'll buy one , yes that's right I can afford one.

I forget this forum appears to be for the few and not for the many and free speech is somewhat like being in China or North Korea if you do not toe the forum line... a few seem to think they have the god given right to police.....

Any way everyone who has adopted the new WC , good on ya , just not for me at the mo.

Ref can i afford a new bike and a holiday , yes but you miss the point , my bike does all it needs to do for me currently , I don't need to spend thousands of pounds more to get the latest to do the same , but with a probability that it will not be reliable.. So i choose to spend my money on travel, after all its not about the bike its about the journey isn't it..
Each to their own , some of us have slightly less BMW is GOD view and can be more critical.

Fanum ,your comment says it all really :thumby: look at the section , if its all technical then you clearly cannot read..
