"Temporary" Bike Shed

Looking for options for a temporary (2-3 year) bike shed/cover.

Live in a conservation area so it has to be "temporary".

I will not get around to building a permanent one for a few years as I have enough to do elsewhere on the property.

Something similar to a Bike Barn:-

Any other options out there or has anyone got a 2nd hand "barn" they want to get rid of.

An 8'x6' shed is cheaper and probably slightly more secure.

Any sort of "Shed" is not an option in this area without going down the "Consent" route and that is complicated at present so I am going to leave it for a while.

Luckily for me the security issues are not a problem here (at present)

If you have the space get yourself a 20ft container from a haulage company, weather proof and well secure so youll sleep easier knowing the local bandits would find it hard to get into. paint it to match the suroundings ,conservation problems sorted..

Had my hornet in kitchen one night, nick simply backed it in through the front door and down the hallway, dont think the gs would fit somehow and no need now as has its home in the garden

You can also get 10ft variants of these, most UK hire companies use them for on-site storage (i guess they would in denmark to?), cost about £10/week, or they can be picked up off ebay for around £700+, which if your going to keep for 3 years might be the better option?

These are far more secure than any shed or tin box is likely to be.

If your worried about the planning department, you could timber clad it, or paint it to a less conspicuous colour.
the only pricey bit would be transport to your house.

Thanks for the replies guys but "security" is not the issue, just want to protect it from the wonderfull weather we have in Denmark.

The "bike Barn" idea is a good one but seems expensive.

Forget containers....won't work where I live....long story so I won't go into it.

Mike - I think the the bike barn is the right thing. I can understand the Planning Laws in your neck of the woods and that it will take sometime before you get the consent to build a proper structure. Good luck!

bike barn for me, 4 years old still waterproof, if a bit greener round the edges
you can bolt it to the ground and lock your bike to the frame, add an extention lead and zip tie an optimate in there aswell.

Yes......but it will not go into the garden.....no access.

The Protech "tent" will do the job until I get planning consent and time to build the real thing.

seems to me a green coloured tent would be your best option, and about a tenth the price of these contraptions which seem to be very very expensive tents anyway
