Tenere owners signing out...

I love it

Had some fun on mine last year.

I've still got it despite now having a new GSA and cannot bring myself to part with it. (I retire soon and will have no where to keep it)

So many folk try to compare one bike against another but in reality they do different jobs in a similar way.

I just love it. Its a lot easier to use than the GSA and it eats miles although not as fast as the GSA and its good off road. Its a great compromise bike that excells in nothing but does most things well.

Hi Rushy, What bike did you buy and where do you ride as i have just bought my second xt660z and they are fun and cheap for what you get . I live on the wirral and ride with two other guys with xt660z,s and they both ride them hard and go in the mud & down the lanes ( the legal ones ) The other thing is you was right you have to plan overtaking but once on the move they are great and handle fantastic . We have had a bit of fun with the sports bike in north wales and its such fun when you pass them at the right moment . Ride safe and within the law :JB

Hiya Neil, only just caught up with this thread again. I bought an XC in the end becuase I liked the lackf weight compared to the Ten, better build quality and also it shoudl stand up to falls a lot better . Not as good /comfy on the road as the Ten though but ist alright fro now.

Pop along to our NW meet sometime, you'd be made welcome :thumb

Will read the full report later but for now i'd just like to say 835 miles in a day on a single :bow

i'd dispute the quality statement - perceived quality ...maybe.

The ten is built in italy and has some very nice little touches - although it will forever be a yamaha

That wasn't a pop at the Tenere but just take the time to look at the quality of some of the components and castings on the XC.............and then also compare the weight of it to the Ten.

I am sure I read somewhere that the plastic panels on the Tenere are cheap by design i.e. cheap to replace if damaged. Could be wrong though. Would make sense for a bike with off road pretentions.

They really are a great bike. :clap

6000 miles and still got a smile on my face. :)
