Hi - a few months ago, post one of our events there was a discussion about some brilliant cloths that allowed you to easily dry your tent of dew/rain before packing it.

@Wrinkly, I think you made the recommendation?

Anyway, I'm off to B&Q later, but can't remember the name of the product. Does anyone recall, please?

Ordinary microfibres dry quick. If it doesn’t in time for set-off, put it in a zip lock food bag.

I’ve used for years.

Dry tent, dry seat, use as tft overnight cover, etc etc etc.

I’ve even used it as a errr towel at times.

Launder with non bio, will last years.

Be careful what you wipe your tent with.
Anything that's been washed with detergents can remove the waterproofing on the tent.

It was at the February ‘Soft southern shandy drinkers’ event. It was ianak who used his as an example, drying my tent.

I use a small micro fibre face towel to dry mine off. It’s blooming brilliant. Once wet, wring it out and carry on. It dries in minutes after.

One like this…. Plenty of choice on size and colour here.

Thanks everyone, great feedback. Yes indeed Ianak's water magnet was the one I had in mind.

It's useful to gather everyone's opinions and solutions - anything to save packing a sopping wet tent.

It was at the February ‘Soft southern shandy drinkers’ event. It was ianak who used his as an example, drying my tent.

I've always used a small Speedo "Swimming Towel" which I have had for years. It's a bit like a chamois leather but not quite the same texture and it comes in a little tube that keeps it clean and stops it drying out completely.

I would have used it as the Soft Southern Shandy Drinkers event - except that I was in a Shepherds Hut which didn't need a wipe down the following morning!

Bog roll to wipe your wet parts, careful though, You will look daft with white bits on yer stubble.

When I started going away for a few weeks at a time camping off bikes , I found the tent was always wet either on top or underneath , never dryable so it goes into its own Ortlieb waterproof bag and sits across the rear between the panniers , as it simply doesn’t do putting the tent stuff sack into a a pannier as it sets out all the stuff around it .
If you get a few wet days it’s impossible to dry it so stuff it wet , put it up wet ,, and just sponge the floor dry , the interior inner seems to dry out quite quickly once it is put up . ( Hilliberg )

An old flannel or tea towel does just as well.

You can give yourself a wipe down with the wet cloth.
