New bike, new house....where will it all end.....

"Just a test ride..."

That's how it always starts... Before you know it you'll be spending your life on here, drooling over Touratech porn and trying to find any excuse to use yer bike.

You'll be hooked.

MMC :D

(p.s. Good luck with the test ride - I started on an 1100, then got the 1150. Main difference for me was the higher top gear. But both cracking bikes)

Well i went out on a X reg non abs 1150- 44k on it, ran fine little snatchy on the gearchange- prob just me not used to the industrial gearbox!;) went up back roads from dundee towards Blairgowrie making sure i took in some single track roads up to Glenshee- wicked!!

bike coped very well with pretty much any surface i encountered- even a couple of little rear wheel slides on a bit of gravel when winding on out of bends- never really felt unsettled, just planted all the time.

wind buffeting at speed is annoying, seat comfortable for about 90 miles, started to ache in my right shoulder after 55 miles-prob just not used to riding position- did about 120 miles in 3hrs and enjoyed myself .
Compared to the 1100??

better headlight ,6th gear for motorway/DC will hold a better value, but resale doesnt concern me as i plan to get one to keep for a long time. metal tank is better so dont need to buy another tank bag! servicing i will do myself.

Nothing in it really. Except price.

dealer offered me this bike but it had was silver with a red seat! didnt like the seat, and had no abs, no luggage rack or boxes- pretty basic really and to add the extras i would want would take it up to the price of an 03 plate with 7k and luggage on it!!

With no part ex he would only knock £250 off the 7.5k bike,

I think im going to look for something with"more for my money" there has been a few bikes on here recently with loads of extras, at fairly decent prices, i know you pay extra at a stealer and get warranty etc but a cared for private bike should be no problem if it has history/reciepts.

Now i know i want one ,im selling my BMW car to raise cash so i can buy one with more toys!!

Anyone fancy a 325i Sport?? ;) :)
