So I am in a real dilemma now as I absolutely loved it. Only downside for me was the backs of my legs felt like they were being slow roasted. The sales guy reckons this has been resolved for the 2015 model but is this true. In traffic it got quite bad but out on the road unnoticeable.
Controls are really light and the power delivery is addictive. The bike does not feel heavy at all and light enough to paddle around although it is over 200kgs.

On mine, the Wings Seat Coolers worked brilliantly. A bit expensive, but hey ho, they work and look nice too. :thumb

Another vote for the Wings coolers :)

When you say the 2015 has it sorted I wonder what they have done? The 1290 has the rear pipe covered in bandage, I wonder if the 1190's now have the same?

I also read today that some think the cat increases heat transfer and removing it helps things. I have a test ride booked on a GSA later in the week and will make a decision after that.

i had never really noticed the heat problem until one 25C day recently. i mean, i knew it got hot, but it wasn't intrusive. funny, i rode it all through last summer and never gave it a thought. this particular day, i did notice my left foot warming rather.

i don't think the 15 MY 1190 has the insulated rear header, just the 1290. i'm sure i read over on adv rider that they both have the same part number in the parts list though.

That's brilliant, but then where does all the heat go??? Wiring loom, ecu:eek:

Out the back....... Considering I did 4k in 17 days and in up to 36 degree heat without the bike missing a beat, I don't think there's anything to worry about. The electrics seem to be well insulated from the get go.

+1 for the Wings solution. My theory is that it's the extra heat reflective matting that does the job (as opposed to the panels re-channelling the heat). If you're thinking about buying the 1190 but are being held back by the heat issue, just get one bought, order the Wings and ENJOY.
