I may have missed seeing this offer before. It is for the r1200gs so I assume this is the correct section for posting.

Free TFT if you order your bike after 1st Jan and blah blah blah.....

Save £595

On the BMW site as I type. I did look to see if this had been posted before but couldn't find it.

Being a cynic it doesn't by any chance coincide with a £596 price hike on any new bikes ordered after 31st December ?

It may well do Neil, not being in the market for a GS I don't know. But BMW are skilful at extracting as much cash as possible from their customers.

Nice to offer customers a free Dashboard at last, thats actually semi-useable on their new bike. How generous.

I prefer my mechanical clockwork dashboard, the one that can be removed in 10 seconds and sold on eBay by anybody walking past the bike, the one that's impossible to read unless stationary using bifocals, where the rev needle disappears behind the sat nav so its anybodys guess after 6000rpm and looks like it came from a 1980's British Leyland Metro.

It scores very highly on motorcycle safety by providing absolutely no readable information while you ride.
Thats genius.

What's not to like?

Nice rant and so true....not clocked (geddit) the Metro likeness before.....but now you come to mention it....

I don’t find the standard display difficult to read, but at 61 I don’t yet need bifocals :P

Several Dealers were showing this offer (Bowker/Bahnstormer), but it now throws a 404 - unable to find page. Seems like it's over, any orders now will be 2018.

Anyway this sounded like a smoke & mirrors deal to max out 2017 sales. IMHO the tft screen/connectivity should come standard - it's only tech that most of us can have on our phones for a fraction of the price the Mothership wants - cheeky buggers.

I expect God thought it would be cruel to fuck up your eyesight, after what he'd done to your personality...

Some of us are just gifted I suppose, the downside is that it causes jealousy in others.

There must be somebody else who manufactures a compatible TFT screen for a GS LC:nenau If it is a must :augie

You mean you can ride these things as well as bolt stiff on to them? Who knew?!!

I think charging extra for a TFT dash really is taking the piss. I would imagine it costs no more or even less to fit TFT rather than conventional clocks.

I wonder how many have chosen Orange over BMW because the TFT dash is standard?
