Just bought a 1250GSA to which the previous owner had fitted TFT protection film - all well and god I thought. However, yesterday I saw another 1250 yesterday that had OE BMW Motorrad film fitted that was much clearer - mine looks a bit cloudy in comparison.

Anyone found an aftermarket TFT film that is as clear as the genuine Motorrad item?

i have just fitted this one the other day ,seems brilliant

There are two different types of TFT screen protection. One is a clear film that shows the TFT as it is and one is an antiglare TFT film which looks cloudy or opaque to the eye but reduces glare from the very shiny TFT screen. These are often sold in packs of two i.e. one of each. Maybe you have the antiglare fitted and you need the clear one for your own benefit.

+1 For Speedo Angels. They'll probably have everything you ever need.

Thanks for all the feedback, very useful! Speedo Angels get a lot of support, and they do an anti glare version which I like the sound of as it should minimise the risk of glare whilst still being pretty clear :beerjug:

When I bought my bike it had some ‘protective’ film on the TFT and it was awful. It actually made the screen even harder to see in strong sunlight and it had massive air bubbles caught under it. How the previous owner could put up with it like that was beyond me.
Anyway, it was soon removed and I had every intention of replacing it with something better. However somehow I forgot about it and have been riding my bike for the last year and a half with nothing covering the screen and honestly I dont think it needs anything.
I’ve never scratched it, I think it must be designed to be pretty hard wearing, and I don’t think it’s too bad in strong sunlight. I do keep it clean and only ever use a soft cloth and mild alcohol cleaner like you would use on lenses.
I think if the sun is at the right angle I doubt there’s anything out there that will cure the glare in that instance, other than shading it.

Speedo Angel Anti glare should be everyone’s 1st choice.
Without. The TFT looks dreadful. Covered in dust, smears and finger prints.

When wet they look even worse.

I usually but two at a time due to owning about 10 x BMW’s with TFT’s

Speedo angels on my GS and again on my GSA.
Anti glare, all good.
Discount code if you look on one of TMFs YouTube vids, not that they’re a lot of money anyway.

I found the stock 1250 tft screen to have one of the best anti glare finishes i've ever had. It is hard to clean without streaking unless you use a mild alcohol solution. too much bother for me. I'd like to find a protector that's more shiny and easier to clean

The slightly cloudy appearance may well be the anti-reflective coating.
The bare TFT has a dull none shiny surface for the same reason.
Is the BMW protector supposed to be anti-reflective, possibly not ?
Just a thought.

Speedo angels do both anti-glare (slight matt) and ultra clear (shiny). Both are easier to clean than the stock screen.
