Got a little heads up from my dealer here in Germany, BMW are making a 2nd Gen TFT for the 2019 models that will be able to be retro fitted as a kit on 2016/2017 bikes, will not be cheap though he thinks possibly 1500 euros at least, this tells me 1st gen TFT is just a beta test.............

That would be great unless it's priced way too high. Mine is a 2016 so to me it's not worth the upgrade to a 2018 bike because it's essentially only a screen and a few bits and pieces.

Yep 2017 cosmetic and Euro 4, but that does not matter in OZ

We still get the same Euro 4 bikes here for the most part. Although, Ducati released the 959 Panigale with the underslung pipes.

I was thinking maybe a XR with TFT or the 1250 VVT next year. I still love my GS though and don't really 'need' to upgrade, I'm thinking of running it until it dies.

That is my thinking, or until it kills me.............

You lose so much money trading in bikes, here anyway, so I want to get my monies worth. I've spent an embarrassing amount of money on bikes in the last five years and I love mine still so might just do that. The bikes run great and still looks new, plus I do all my own maintenance.

Yep me to, hate wasting money, waited till the last 2017 May model so all niggles had been sorted before I bought it, hopefully will do me fine for a few years, hardly any offroad or riding through salty water, so should be ok.

I really do want that screen though :)

It is not the first time my dealer has spoken about a new TFT or tablet as he calls it, except info this time was a little more precise.

That would be very good.

Saves me having to upgrade my bike just for that one benefit. So I'll be very happy if that's the case.

Well apparently if your bike has this wiring system, GS and GSA X6ABA wiring system can already have the TFT it comes in a kit and supposedly has to be installed by BMW

How does one confirm that information?
