TFT Rev counter on warm up.

Am I correct in saying that the max Rev displayed on a cold engine is lower on the TFT than the max revs when warmed up?
My 2019 1250 stays at the same. Does it need a software upgrade.?

I think the red line went up from 6k on a stone cold engine. I don’t have one to double check but I noticed it on a dealer loan bike

As the engine warms up, the red bar limit will slowly increase. It usually takes less than 10 min.

If the red bar does not move, check the temperature indication. The indication is based on the engine oil temperature.

That is certainly the case on the RS. Red line increases as the operating temp rises to its norm.

Yes. Absolutely.

And I would also like to correct my statement regarding checking the engine temperature on the TFT.
The limiter for the red line is based on the oil temperature, while the TFT will display the coolant temperature.

I disagree with that sentiment.
2 years ago. I started the BMW TFT Facebook group. 5.1 k members now. I've pinned at the top a simple set of rules. To help stop repetitive question. And although it did help. Still get a persistant stream of the same question.
In this case..a quick review of the manual will stop silly persistant questions. As has been quoted above. The "what oil" being the daddy of them all.
These views are not meant to be malicious or condescending.
