Hi folks,
I have a 2018 Rallye Adventure and noticed a precise perfectly round black dot on the screen on the right hand side where the gear is displayed. Is this normal or is it faulty?

I believe the screen includes a ambient light level sensor for switching between the DRLs and the headlights automatically, and it might also control screen brightness. However, I would be surprised it that were within the active area of the screen, when there is quite a big non-active border where it could be located.

Is the black dot visible when the screen is turned off? Just checked my 2018 tft whilst off and I have no black dot.

Light sensor is on right side on the frame.
Visible when screen is off. Doesn't show up in photos but is obvious when riding.
A fault I presume if no one else has it.

Is there a screen protector on the TFT? Might be a stray air bubble.

I have a stray air bubble under my screen protector which is visible when the screen is off. I would assume yours is visible when off too?

Would anyone know the latest software version mine is 001_019_180 is this the latest?

No screen protector fitted.
Still visible when off.
Must be a fault in the screen. I'll get it changed when things return to normal.

I had a hell of a time trying to get my dealer to replace the TFT. They were insisting that it was greasy finger marks....why would I be touching the TFT with kebab fingers? They had to "wash" it themselves with their own branded Shower Gel before they replaced it. It wasn't the guys at the dealers it was whoever they go to that was being difficult.

I don't know if the link will work... https://flic.kr/p/Q2kgsd This was my greasy finger prints

Moisture marks maybe? Looks like air bubbles?

I believe it was air bubbles too. After they cleaned it they said the marks had disappeared, when I went back to collect it and it had been sat outside in the cool air they had returned. Luckily I looked before I rode away. It was replaced after that.

That's pretty bad. I can put up with my tiny black dot of need be but I'll certainly be mentioning it to the dealer.
