Just want to say how impressed I was with the service from garmin. The screen on My nav 11 got smashed. I tried speaking to My bmw dealer and got nowhwere so thought I would give garmin a try.
Well they just said send it in and we will have a look. I sent it off and a few days later I get a letter saying that as the unit was out of warantee the cost owuld be £135. For that I got sent a brand new nav 11 in the box, complete with all the accesories and even the bmw mount.

It is nice when a company backs it products with support like that, instead of the usual sorry you wil have to buy a new one attitude that most companies have these days.
So a big Thanks to Matt and the rest of the people at Garmin UK.

I can second that ...

my Nav2 died ...possibly due to a drop on a hard floor! Sent it back to them via 'diplomatic bag' going back to UK with a note explaining that I am in Romania and coming back to UK just for xmas. By the time it was posted to them it was less than a week before I got back ...
They turned it round same day with next day delivery with a new unit ...and no charge!! well impressed!

That sort of customer care is worth a lot... and should be commended

worth remembering when making the choice between manufactures of GPS's

:clap :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

I have two Garmin units and when either of them are up for replacement it'll certainly be another Garmin.

Rhino - don't suppose you want to sell your old BMW mount? gbell'AT'panparks'DOT'org back in uk on friday until 5th Feb - peaks and london

not sure. The BWM mount dosent work with normal garmin units. Well i tried the other halfs 2610 and the buttons didn't work.

And another :thumb2 for Garmin's service.

Spoke with Phil W at Garmin on 18th April regarding my 15-month old SP2720 that was suffering from intermittent slow satellite acquisition. After going through a few questions he arranged an RMA number, but suggested that I sent the unit to arrive no sooner than Monday 23rd and expect a week to 10-day turnaround because their Service Dept was in the process of moving to their new site. Fair enough.

Received a replacement SP2720 from Garmin (looks brand new, but could be refurbed - frankly I don't mind which) on Monday 30th which works perfectly. And the cost of this out-of-warranty repair? £zero. If only other manufacturers were as flexible with their interpretation of "warranted for 12 months from date of purchase" then the world would be a better place.

Top service! Guess which manufacturer's GPS receiver I'll buy next time around? And if anyone from Garmin UK is reading: Thanks guys! I owe you a
