Don't knock it. With him asking £8000 for that 'very excellent' example it puts the value of the rest up a notch or two.
I know for certain this is correct: 24,000 1150 Adv was sold for £7499 and a slightly higher, 32,000 miles one was sold for £7250 - and they are both coming in for servicing at the selling dealers. It was these that gave me the valuation I needed to shout at the engineers for the value of mine. The clever sods had only valued mine as a standard 1150GS - so I simply pointed out that fact and the correct valuation for the Adventure model was higher... they agreed!
I can see the 1150s gaining some traction in the coming years, provided they aren't mullered. Look at how old British and Italian stuff is going through the skylight.... the silver 1150 Adventure is another iconic machine. It was the silver one in the gate fold brochure shot in Chile, and the silver one that made the TV public take notice. Those reasons will put a premium on the silver ones over the others.
