Morning fellas.
Not much to report sadly, I spent most of the weekend doing other things, but I do now have a full list of all the standard nuts and bolts used in a Guzzi T3 California, and Boltbase have relieved me of a few quid as I plunge into their stainless fasteners catalogue.
These are most of them if you’re interested.
I’m also in the stages of finalising supplies - spokes and nips from Germany, obscure unobtainable items from the Netherlands (rubber instrument holder sleeve if you’re interested) and another mahoosive Stein Dinse order about to hit their books. I’d buy their shares now if I were you. Or DHL. It’s a sign when the dog knows the delivery fella and she waits by the door for his almost daily arrival.
Im also in the final stages of sorting all the bits out to take up to Mikeyboy, helped enormously by the changes to lockdown. I feel a long walk in the Melton Mowbray area is essential to my mental health.
So all the casings, fork legs, wheels and a few other alloy bits and pieces will be heading up to him next week for the treatment.
I’ve also found a local fella to paint the tank and side panels.
This weekends job is to sort every thing into assembly stages, get the garage clear, sort the working table and get ready to start building up the frame, engine and gearbox when they come back in June.
Finally it’s time to take the plunge on some pricey bits, and here’s where I could do with your help. I need:
- rear shocks. I’m thinking The Shock Factory. Any suggestions?
- exhaust system. Currently Armours Ltd are top of the list. Any other suggestions?
- tyres & tubes. I’m thinking Metzler Roadtec 1 as that’s what I have on my GS and I like them.
- chrome bits. All have a little corrosion, I could get them rechromed but new items aren’t that much more expensive
- luggage. The boxes are fecked. Anyone got a set they don’t want?
