do you understand now????? The screen displays 25% less map area than a 2610

Phil Reynolds said:Michael, I too have a lot of background hiss when I connected my custom speaker moulded earplugs into my new 2820. When I read your reply regarding changing the type of audio output, I re-checked the manual and followed the instructions. Only problem is, the menu doesn't go beyond what should be the penultimate heading of Speed adjusted volume. But on my system there are no further headings.
I know you have to use the scroll arrows to read up and down, but believe me - the Audio jack option just isn't there. Please tell me I'm doing something wrong coz for the life of me I can't find the Audio Jack option.
mrTickle said:You're in cuckoo land. Show me where I said any of the above you DICKHEAD
1)You don't like the fact that the screen depicts a more detailed image, but it has not occurred to you to press the zoom button to view the image at the same size as your previous GPSR.
I said the screen on the 2810 looses around 1 inch of it's display because it doesn't have transparent tabs - you DICK
[2) You don't like the guidance message across the top, or the time to go fields across the right, but you aren't willing to read the owner manual and find out how to set the display up the way you want it.
Where did I say that - you DICK
3) You think the GPSR was too expensive, but you didn't bother to take 5 minutes to compare the 27xx and 28xx and discover that the 27xx would have given you what you wanted, even though Garmin has a side by side comparison tool available here: Mobile Electronics Product Comparison.
I said the 2610 is far better value than the 2820 - you DICK
4) You're complaining about the sound output of your Autocom intercom, blaming the GPSR, when the problem has nothing to do with the GPSR. It's entirely your fault, you didn't bother to read the part of the user manual that explains how to switch between 'speaker output' and 'line output', depending on what you are feeding the signal to.
I said the hum is there with a pair of headphones connected to it as well and the supplied microphone from Garmin is useless on my unit. And as Phil stated above, there is no Audio Jack option even though it shows it in the manual - you DICK
Just because you brown nose for Garmin doesn't mean I swallow all your B.S. You in fact p1ss me right off. Grow up![]()

Denester: Just so there is no confusion of any kind, I want to stress that I don't work for Garmin, and I don't get paid anything by them, and I do not have any authorization to speak for them... which means that whatever I say here is entirely my own opinion. I do not, under any circumstances, speak for Garmin.

Well done MrTickle - You have single-handedly managed to piss off the one person who responds to every single request for help with Garmin GPS units.
That took some doing, even before adding the insults.
If you are that incensed with your poor choice - stick the unit on ebay and be done with it.

I didn't ask for his advice - you notice he stuck his nose in and was very rude to me first. If I've p1ssed him off, he only has himself to blame. I didn't ask for his purile remarks that are of no help to me whatsovever. He frequents other GPS forums and has excactly the same attitude to anyone that dares to critisize Garmin. He got upset because of my opinion of the 2820, how sad.
He's upset with me because 3 years ago I bought an American 2610, loaded it with Worldmap & City Navigator and never had a problem. The poor chap has never got over it. If he's got a problem with me, he can stick me on his ignore list. The fact of the matter is I am not going to pander to him - he's never helped me with a GPS issue and all the information he has given to me has been a load of nonsense.
If I p1ssed him off GOOD, because he's p1ssed me off

Aidan1150 said:I don't have a GPS unit of any kind. I don't know PanEuropean (Michael) either.
I often read the GPS related threads as I am undecided as to whether or not to buy one and find that Michael is a font of considerable knowledge on the subject who freely imparts information to anyone who asks.
In my opinion your last post is deeply offensive mrTickle. If you are unable to have an exchange of views without resorting to personal insult maybe you should just stay quiet.
......... Paul Wakefield said:Llama, I've been having the same internal debate as you. I think the only thing that I personally would really benefit from (as opposed to "be quite nice to have") is the proximity alerts. But you can still have speed cameras (if that is what you are thinking of) on the 2610 but without warnings & get into the habit of scanning the screen every so often. Not ideal but not worth the cost of change for me (yet!). BTW, will you miss the portability and internal battery of the Quest? Have you considered the 276c which many seem to really like?

I very much doubt if Pan will respond to this sort of gutter language.mrTickle said:If I p1ssed him off GOOD, because he's p1ssed me off
