The announcement, West Cork, Durrus and Beara....

Where?

your in !:thumb2

only one bed left, :eek

Where in God's name is this bed I have booked for the Allihies weekend. I was told today that it's in Holy Cross - Holy Christ! That's an awfull long way, there and back to Durrus..... It would be easier to stay at home in Cork and travel back down in the morning!:confused:

I was halfway through a  and most of it almost just ended up in my keyboard. :drool

I think the point of the B&B was for people travelling down from up north. Mind you, I'm sure they won't turn you away if you want to take the scenic route to Kerry. :augie

Ok lads, back home... The bike started on the button after five months in the shed, not even connected to an optimate...

The horn is not working though:(

Anyway time is passing and a couple of guys have dropped out and a few more have added themselves.

Could anyone wanting BandB , camping, send me a PM so I can book it.

There are a few choices for B and B, old fashioned charismatic to posh etc.

Evening meal will now (due to numbers) be in the local pub, only one does food.... Once I have a clearer idea on numbers I will let them know to expect us

BandB goes from 60€ for a double to 75€ for a double.

There is also a private hostel which is very good and next to the pubs. 45€ for a night.

Camping should be cheap but I did not ask him yet.

I have worked it out, there are going to be about 20 bikes as I have a couple of mates here who will do it too....

Anyway I have prepared a Mapsource file with waypoints and routes... Its split into routes 1 - 2 - 3 etc with a route 2a which cuts out the sheeps head if the weather is too bad, but to be honest I really like sheeps head and intend to go for it.

As the roads are so narrow, gravely, grassy etc I suggest that everybody goes at there own speed and we have official stops at, Durrus, the end of Sheeps head, Priests leap, Glengarrif, Healey pass (top of), Eyries (pub)... From there the route in the file is on road, but for those of you who want there is a track over the hill to Allihies for some "off road"... Any bike could do it BTW it is not that bad.

Voila, any comments, tips appreciated....
