The art of layering / best airflow jackets

D30 armour is the market leader . What would you consider more substantial?
You won’t have anything safer unless you go for an airbag vest .
Generally D30 is too small, if the generic size was more like the size Rukka use or even better the same size as the SAS-tech in Stadler suits then it would be a real winner.

My Single layer jeans are much better than the Marrakesh trousers I got with my first suit. The Marrakesh trousers didn’t really feel like they flowed much air, and they were black.
The Induction trousers are probably a better option than the Marrakesh but at another £400 I’ll just live with my mistake.

I’m actually ashamed to admit it, but I’ve never bought from aliexpress! Lol
How long does it take to get here from China?
And there’s probably a high chance this £20 bargain might end up straight in the bin?!
Might risk it with something else, but definitely not clothing unless recommended on here 🤔
It can take between 7 and 20 days for it to get to you from China, but beware of the sizing, as things come up on the small side.
Have a look on Temu as well

Probably longest I have waited is 2 weeks.
I have bought plenty of gear from Ali. Been satisfied with what I have received.

My Rukka kit has D3O in it, so it is specially made for Rukka?

I believe so, the armour in my Rukka kit is significantly larger than in my Klim gear. The armour Stadler use is even larger, unfortunately Stadler gear is hard to come by now in the UK since Motolegends stopped selling it.

I love my Marakesh Pants, they're much better than my BMW city jeans, for comfort and airflow. I have the Adventure spec Linesman jacket, which is brilliant. I suspect that what the twat in the cap says is honest, but based only upon what Motolegends stock. They don't consider the AS stuff.
I take it with a pinch of salt what he says and do my own research. it's not failed me yet. He's wrong about a lot of things, particularly not considering brands they don't sell.

I don’t see how the Linesman can vent as much air as a Marrakesh. AS say that the Linesman is windproof!

I don't know if it vents as much as the Marrakesh, all I do know it's good at what It does as a summer jacket. Maybe it's the position of the zip vents or something. There is some airflow through the sleeves, and they have no vents. All I'm saying is that ML only consider what they can supply.

True.
But looking at it another way, they could probably get most brands but choose not to.
I read somewhere that they are the biggest Klim dealer outside of North America but deliberately do not stock all the Klim range as they consider some of the Klim stuff to be not as good as kit from other brands.

And of course ML only consider what they can supply.
Be a bit bloody stupid to make a video promoting a jacket and then end by saying “but we don’t sell it so you’ll need to visit Sportsbikeshop to purchase”.
They’re a business , not a charity

Yeah, I get all that, but he talks like it's the be all and end all. Think you know what I mean really. Certain brands (such as AS) don't do business through other outlets. His is not an unbiased opinion. It's a bit like Calrsburg saying that theirs is the "The Best Larger In The World", it's not in some opinions, that's why they added "probably".

I've bought stuff from ML, but not based upon his reviews. In fact some of the stuff he says comes across as being over opinionated, or is it just sales pitch?

Find the kit you think you’d like. Read or watch some reviews, if you want to *. Try it on in a shop. If you like it, buy it….. after haggling, natch but via an online seller, ‘cos it’s well cheaper and you ain’t being ripped off. It’s not very hard or bikermates wouldn’t / couldn’t do it. Or at least, not without help.

* If necessary, whilst sucking your teeth and shaking your head, whilst mumbling to anyone who might listen, “Well, you would say that, wouldn’t you”.

Agreed . He does talk bollox but he certainly knows more than the average Joe.
I’d never buy purely on his recommendation yet my current go to kit for both warm and colder weather came from ML, all of it substantially discounted .

Sweaty bollocks, when riding? Undo the fly and let those cooling breezes in.

Everybody’s favourite motorcycle clothing guru speaks much sense

He’s obviously much hated on here but he does talk some sense .

Due to a succession of Motolegends Sunday Sales, I’ve ended up with exactly what El Cùnto Capo recommendeds as the perfect layering setup , namely Klim Zephyr worn under Klim Marrakech worn under Scott Ergo Pro.

Used the system in its entirety for first time on recent Spain/Portugal trip in temperatures ranging from 12-37 degrees c and it was genius .

Admittedly didn’t need Scott as only rain we had stopped within 5 minutes .
But I’ve used it before and it’s been 100 % waterproof.

I have the same. A very good combination of jackets.

Do that here and you may well end up with swollen genitals!

I got off my Hornet during a ride in May and under my bollocks on the seat, was a Hornet! I was thankful it was still stunned. :D

Regarding riding apparel in hot temps....I only ever wear jeans and under my Buell jacket, I wear a t shirt.
My leather Buell jacket has six zip vents which are protected with mesh, you will sweat in temps over 37c, so it enables the sweat to be cooled, which makes you feel cooler, as that is what sweat is for....Over 40c, then all bets are off, it is nigh on impossible to keep cool and your body is sweating so much, as to negate the effects....This is when you default to shorts and t shirt and the rest is up to you.

Riding in just your underpants is preferred, as there is nowhere for insects to get trapped and then sting you, but you can garner unusual looks from others if you decide to stop....It is difficult to explain this to others, so best to just go about your business avoiding eye contact. :D I have discovered that swimming trunks are more acceptable and no one gives you a second glance, unless your penis has escaped...Or even a stray bollock or both...You do not notice, as the air temp is so hot, so depend upon others to inform you if you have not checked.

Out riding yesterday off-road in Norfolk
Mid to late 20c
I don’t think the original BMWs Rallye jacket can be overlooked
Mk1 version has full vented arms and 4 front vents
Amazing jacket on the road sections for venting
