I would expect those "weedy" battery cables to get a bit warm?

An interesting product, none-the-less.

Al :D

The actual clamp cables are connected to battery, then device plugged into them and as soon as bike fires, they are to be removed within 30 seconds to avoid that

But the net flow of current from the "bolt" to the battery will be the starting current + the inrush to the bike's/car's battery - surely?

I have moved this thread to this section of the site Mark as the Ireland section is not for offering goods for sale within.

They sell these in Costco Uk for a lot less, (£39.00) I can,t confirm it will start my bike but it is a very good charger for ipad, phones, bluetooth head sets etc. It will be very handy when I am away camping :)

I have a Costco one, used it to boost my Saab 9-3s tired battery, seemed to work ok. I wouldn't like to try it on a completely flat battery.

I gave € 10 for one in some discount store but I wouldnt expect it to start my bike. It's for recharging your phone. I have read about these little starter battery's and while I cannot comment on price I know that they are very different from each other. My €10 one is 5volts for one thing. JJH

I saw a version of this demonstrated at the NEC bike show, pretty impressive but having looked at the range available on ebay etc(and I do realise that quality will vary) I have to say that the exchange rate must be pretty poor over on the emerald isle....

Indeed the quality does vary massively! This is 8000mAh, that's the Biggy, personally, I would by this to charge my phone, I'd buy it to charge it once every 6 months and leave it say in my top box for the time it's not being charged for the day I or a mate needs a boost, it is well capable of jump starting cars, like you guys mentioned, cheap ones can be bought, maybe only useful to charge your smartphone but this unit is tried and tested

Have i got this right?
You can buy on eBay, costco etc. things that look like, seem like, are a bit like the product in the first post but are actually nothing like it.

The others, I think - are very restricted in current output.

The one mentioned in the OP appears not to have this restriction, and has a high capacity.

Bingo!

Some folks are mentioning phone chargers on here, this isnt a phone charger....its a Automotive jump starter pack that has the added ability to charge your phone, it is solely based on being able to jump start a dead battery on a bike or a car up to 10 times on one charge!! the adv shown in the video has a gimped battery, hasn't been started since early december, there is alot of chinese muck out there, this isnt it, this unit is tried and tested and latest on the market

Think what you will about your costco or ebay ones, these are selling very well for me so it must be doing something right

I can't speak for the Ebay units but the Costco one looks the same as the one above except its white. it has the jump leads and all the connectors shown.

Aye it does everything stated in the OP, but costs £39, which is a significant saving on 150 Euro, even at current exchange rates.
