The 'Bolt' Battery Jumpstarter

Ah ok, thats interesting, firstly, Not the same unit, at all.....Now you will say "but it does the same job for fraction of the cost" (i assume as i cant see a price anywhere)....

Well, You can buy a 2005 R1200GS in perfect condition, You can also buy a 2005 R1200GS with bollixed gearbox seals, a gimped rear axle bearing...oh...and a temperamental fuel sender unit......Both do the same job, but one does it alot better!

If only in life that was true!

Surely there is no evidence that yours is the perfect condition 1200Gs, and the other is the bolloxed 1200Gs,

it could quite easily be the other way around, unless you have evidence to the contrary?

both were made in China, possibly in the same factory, with the same basic parts, who knows, yours might be far better, but who knows,

what we do know is that other sellers are selling similar products much cheaper, and those sellers generally have a history of backing their products,

even Dave Silver spares are knocking the £40 ones out!

I guess thats the predicament.....

I think the real predicament is convincing someone to spend £150 when there appears to be an equivalent available for £40. To justify that differential will require some factual and provable advantages over the less expensive version. It happens all the time where one factory makes products for a number of different retailers - I've encountered the same issues with heated clothing recently.

You could plug your heated clothing into one of these bad-boys ! :D

(think it was €150 in original post, but I take your point)

I'm not plugging Mark here as these battery starters are flying out the door. I bought one the other day for my bike re a forthcoming trip. Idiot son left lights on in his golf and he's a not hands on re mechanicals. I used the bolt just to see did it do want it claims......golf fired up in a nano second. It's a brill piece of kit and if your touring it's an essential piece of kit. just my 2c
