OK, I like getting stuff off ebay for a few reasons. It's more fun than going around shops, you feel like you might be getting a bargain (at least until the last minute of the auction) and you generally find something extra to buy as well which you didn't know you wanted or needed.

In July, just before a nice long holiday touring Europe, I got it into my head that I wanted a bagster tank cover and bag. Bought what was advertised as an 1150gs tank cover in black. The item turned up and didn't quite fit properly, seemed slightly large and the fuel filler hole was far too small. However, the seller said he had used it happily on an older model 1150 (!the one with the ugly headlight?")

It was too close to the holiday so I decided not to worry about it and just leave it in the garage at home, thinking maybe I was just doing something wrong.

A good few months later and I have decided that I need to find out whether it will fit a bike.

It seems to have the correct cut-outs for the BMW logo either side of the tank, however, it seems to be a bit large for the standard tank on my year 2000 model.

Does anybody know where I might be able to get the answer?

I have tried searching the internet a bit and also contacting Bagster with no joy.

Probably a bit of a shot in the dark, but I'm stuck with it until I can find out what it is for. Once I know, it's either going on ebay or to somebody on here.

And finally, before you say it, I should have just sent it back in the first place when I found it didn't fit. :blast

Pictures my son, pictures ............would help the collective

We need pics of the Baglux cover and pics of the said cover on or nearly fitted to the 1150GS tank

How else can we help?

Do you expect us to conjure something up in our minds ?

:blast

Could it be ex 1100 as you can't use 1150 and ugly in the same sentance.:D

The "Older 1150" maybe your clue.

Just a guess here but maybe it is for an 1150GSA with the larger tank?

I bought a black used Baglux cover for my 1150 of Ebay recently and it fits just right.

Happy to send you some photos.

.

The man may have the hit the nail on the head - the standard GS tank (both the 1100 and the 1150 use the same tank) is 24 litres and the larger GS ADV tank is 31 litres.

Nowt wrong with that, just the awful yellow bike:barf
:D

I agree, I have a full set of black body work to go on it but my 2 year old has decided yellow is his favorite colour so I am banned from making the change at the moment.

Could be worse though, at least it's not a White SE :D

did the seller say he used it on a gs?
the rockster 1150 has an ugly headlight as well as the gs:)

OK thanks for your help everyone!

I took the photos but then found that I can't upload them as I am not a subscribed tosser and I don't have a website to which I can upload them and stick in a URL reference.

I thought maybe the small filler hole would be a giveaway to somebody.

I have managed to find the old ebay advert so will be contacting the guy to see what he says.

Host them on Photobucket (Google) and copy the image URLs over to here:thumb
