The deed is done....

Dislike: The rider’s seat seems to have a bit of a problem locking in to the mechanism, always needing a few good whacks to get it in.

Hi John,

Have / Had the same problem with mine. In the end I popped the seat on without pushing it down THEN simply turned the seat lock key forward and then gently pushed the seat down. CLICK. Struck me as though the mechanism just needed to go forward a little. Something I will mention at the 6K service.

Nice pics by way!

Thanks Graham, I take it your bike is a 2006? A couple of times I've had the seat off and it's went back on OK, but the rest of the time......... Something is deff amiss, although normally I'd say it could be technique as much as anything, in this case I'm not sure what's happening. It feels like it clicks in, but then you can pull it off np without the key.

:) bike looks well :thumb where the adv. style guards standard ? that mud splash must have come in a bottle :D trying to let us think you where off roading ;) :) nice casual looking model in the pic's ! ;)

Guards as standard as you want to pay £ for them :D

Bottled mud nice one, used that quip myself ;) although I find most Scottish roads give the desired 'off road' effect these days, whether you want it or not, lol :mmmm :spitfire

Nice looking bike. Give the seat a chance to break in - for me, I've always found it takes about 1k miles for my bum and seat to be comfortable together. :)

Seat on and off

In the first road test I read they mentioned the difficulty of re-fitting the seat & after two years i still haven't mastered the system. Thus I have not bought a neat U lock that fits under the seat and will have to wait until somebody tells me what I am doing wrong!

. Only problem is that I have to wait three weeks to pick her up :(

Why?

Mine took 3 days.

Your local landscapes are much better than mine :)

I've always found the seat mechanism a bit fiddley, so best leave seat alone....

Best colour you've got there too.

Thanks Paul, yeah I think a bit more use is required. I went for a run earlier tonight, just myself with no pillion, and it felt fine :)

Ta :beerjug: Marcus :) Although it didnt take three weeks, that was a mistake on my part. I picked the bike up on Sat, one week later, and could have been the Friday even, which seems fine time wise in my book, so :thumb np.

And I must say, praise where it's due to all the Motorrad Central team, they have been faultless in their attitude, friendliness and handling of buying a new £10K bike, they made it simple, transparent and fun. So cheers JD, Blair, Chris, the mechanics and team, no whinges here :D :clap
