Finally I have taken the plunge to change from my R1200R to a GS LC TE.
I chose the "Frozen" Metallic Blue colour just to be different so for future reference - NO I do NOT want to build a snowman!
I've opted to pass on BMW luggage because to spec GSA panniers was over a grand and I could get SW-Motech (I'm a fan) alu panniers and quick release frame system for less than a pair of standard Vario panniers. I've just got to find a way to make that work with a Givi Top box or else, as Septikangel has suggested, use a Trekker outback box which seems to be the only square topbox that'll take a helmet.
