That looks good. Lets see some pics of it outside.:thumb How much did he charge?

Sticky backed plastic, was it done by Blue Peter?
.

Certainly was Blue peter. A load at work have had there cars done in the same stuff which is supposed to look like carbon fibre all of them look shit but i suppose it's one way of hiding the rust, think they are charging £600 to wrap a car. I had a bellypan made for my Firestorm from one of my local yacht builders and that was made from carbon fibre and the wrap shit that they've had put on there car's doesn't resemble carbon fibre in the slightest

I still prefer matt black:D

he took all the panels off and did a fab job, took 3.5hrs in total, £80 :beerjug:

That's a god deal.:comfort Which panels did he have to take off, other than the centre tank panel, and the ones he wrapped? Did you get them to wrap the small deflector screen under the windscreen? I did!:D

How did he manage with the compound curves? Hot air gun? I stuck a rectangular piece on the lid of my alloy top box the other day. That was a flat panel but still difficult to avoid creases and/or bubbles.

he didn't remove the air intakes for the rads just all the fasteners bar one to get access to the big panels, theirs an awkward plastic cheapo fastener holding it on at the bottom, why that's their and not a normal stainless fastener is beyond me, just to save a couple of pence i suppose, i wanted to ask him to do the deflector panel but he spent so much time and care doing the big job i didn't want to take the piss:rolleyes: going to get the wheels and rocker covers powder coated in the next 2 weeks, the quality of the powder coating is nowhere near as good as on my previous gs's, in fact its piss poor:eek:

hot air gun, he used a laser temp gauge as well, if it gets too warm it can cause problems later on, its a lot more difficult than i thought, lesley judd would be fucked with it on blue peter:D

Well bang goes my carbon wrap:blast:blast.
had it put on the bike when i picked it up i noticed it bubbling in certain places so got in touch with plymouth car sounds that did it and told them i would like it redone as its peeling approx 4 weeks after putting it on . I dropped the panels off and told her i would pick them up 6 weeks later when i returned .
Got an e-mail yesterday saying the new ones are starting to lift as well so she has removed them and giving me my noney back minus 50 for her time .

I hope skid and count dont have the same problems with theirs :comfort
:flag

Steve I'd suggest you find someone else to do the job because it sounds like they don't no how to apply the stuff.

Carbon wrap should not lift if they use 1080 as its designed for commercial outside use ie cars, bikes etc. I've recently done a bonnet and door pillars in 1080 a few months ago and the vehicle has sat out in the sun and its fine. The 3m di-noc that peeps used was never designed for exterior usage and would lift .

mines fine as well, no bubbling or creeping, i was also told the 3m stuff wasn't suitable for outdoor use
