The Falloffathon 17th/18th November 2007 (Ride report)

Classic photos there.
Must be the wrong type of leaves on the trail:D

I see Tim's first aid has improved after doing FBOS. That bandaging looks almost professional.

On a serious note I do hope the injury is not too severe.

The question is will there be any starters on day 2:augie

And a caption for this?

Forry get's to ride something with this century's technology

Judging by the tyre tread marks up the headlight shroud, it look as though the bike has been used for traction by one of the other riders. Strange though as I didn't see the 'Berg on it's side, I must of missed another one of Timolgra's covert get-offs.......:blast

Traffic jam, on a green lane, whatever next!

Hands working at the speed of light. Andy's clutch lever got snapped off.

And finally, I manage to get a rare shot of camera shy Timpo actually riding his bike!

At this point of the trail, Andy has lost momentum.
222787871-M.jpg

But just before this point he gained a whole lot of it. The track is behind the bank!

Happily both bike and rider were OK.

A thouroughly enjoyable day. It got a tad chilly later in the day, with flurries of sleet, but that didn't bother us. Riding lanes in the dark was a new experience for me, and showed up the pitiful excuse for a headlight on the Honda. Orla's KTM was similarly dimly equiped, but it made you concentrate on what the terrain felt like under your wheels, because you couldn't see it! Mechanical glitches were only water/muck in Orla's float bowl, Andy's lever, and I had an enforced stop when some fence wire wrapped itself around the rear hub. Only one puncture (mine) which only manifested itself as we turned towards the trailers. Big thanks to Timpo for leading :bow, and to everyone else for being bloody good company :thumb

We're gaining a bit of a reputation, ain't we?:aidan

I've just seen them off from the pub, Eoin taking pain killers in the liquid form:beer: and Orla staying sober for the drive up to Holyhead:blast

Eoin vows a return to Wales and not break himself or the bike next time:clap

Past tense Padge, past tense......:thumb

And to all the attendees of The Falloffathon, a huge 'Well Done' from Timpo.
The lanes were tricky with leaf mulch and water preventing even the best tyres from giving much grip. It seemed that the smaller engined machines excelled in gaining traction, AndyT on the Husky 610 will vouch for that...:blast
No real mechanical issues apart from DG's KTM250 mis-fuelling.......:augie
I had a great weekend, once again. But that's leads me back to the question.........
What are we going to do next?:nenau

Timpo.

The motorway and bwlch y groes in one night:green gri

Now we're talking Curly Tots
All I've got to do is clear the forest end, and get a bike with a battery so if the engine should stop (:augie), I'll still have light.
Next weekend?
Forry get your DR back done here......................
Timpo.

What an EXCELLENTweekend. Got to Forries just before midnight, swapped the bikes about on the trailer, a quick brew and up to Aberdeen where I arrivedat 0545 as I had to have a few mins shut eye near Perth - now to think about the office..

Many thanks to Timpo for organising this despite the bruises and stiff joints it was a marvelous weekend and the weather was unbelievable compared to the forecast. Many thanks also to Mrs Timpo "Teach" for putting up with Forry and myself and making us so welcome(not to mention 3 hot meals and butties:thumb

I'll post some pictures later as I'm heading into work now. My back wheel traveled further than my front most of the weekend due to running on MT21's (I think that stands for "Mainly Teflon"). I had a couple of great offs and even did an extra lane into a field but thats another story:augie

Excellent pictures Mark. I couldn't believe how many people puller spare clutch levers out of their tool bags when mine broke, well impressed and even more impressed taht they fitted.

The HUsqvarna took alot of abuse this weekend and took it all very well, I still can't explain my early exit into that field but did a perfect 10/10 forward roll after being flung over the handle bars:o

Didn't realise you had a puncture it must have been right at the end.

AndyT:cool:

That was one of the most spectacular get offs I have seen! One minute you were in the right hand rut (compared to where I was, in the left), next minute you jinked left across the front of me, then grabbed a fistfull of throttle and barrelled through the hedge and over the bank! :eek I jumped off mine in time to hear you laughing your head off. :thumb2

The front wheel puncture only really showed up when I tried to turn into the industrial estate.
