Not sure if this really constitutes an “Off Road Event” but as our first G450 arrived at the showroom today all shiny and new, ahead of the official launch on the 20th September, I thought it might be worth a mention.

Anyway, we have one sitting in the showroom, and available to see and for test rides very soon, so if anyone wants to come along to South London Motorrad here in Caterham to see it or have a test ride then give the team a call. Alternatively come along to the launch event here on 20th September.

I will put together a quick brief tomorrow on price, spares and after market stuff for all. As it's so new inevitably the aftermarket stuff will be limited, but there is an alternative pipe for it, as we are fitting this to the one in the showroom (they ordered it today).

We are taking it out to a field next week to thrash it around. Report to follow !!

i thought this type of thing was frowned upon by BMW - A very very good dealer was "reported" ( by another dealer ??) to BMW when they posted something similar on here last year.
So i'd have thought a level playing field for all would be fair ? .

Yes, we can’t wait !!

Ok, the OTR retail price is £6,116 (£5,995 plus registration) which is the price BMW quote. The deal you then get with your dealer is down to you of course ! Availability is very tight however.

In terms of aftermarket and extra’s etc, they are very limited as I suspected due to how new this bike is. We have ordered a full pipe (akrapovic) but yet to get a delivery date.

Information on all the extra etc will be available soon, but under wraps at the moment I am told !! No information yet on any third party goodies, but I am sure they will be in the planning if not very close to launch.

We will aim to get these in when they are available.

I gather that the Akrapovic system is a 'must have' addition as it adds 3.7bhp in the mid-range.

Spares etc for G450

Hi Ovenpaa

In response to your query regarding spares etc, the bike comes with the following:-
• Additional (Longer) chain runner (for off-road)
• Competition plug (extra 10 BHP)
• Off-road lever supports (replaces those for mirrors)
• 2 spare front sprockets (13 & 14) comes with a 15
• Handbook (Paper)
• CD ROM manual
• Tool kit as follows:-

o Rear shock seize spanner
o Wheel spindle spanner
o Screwdriver (+/-)
o T-bar and sockets
o 2 fuses (one set)

Unfortunately in terms of availability we do not have visibility (other than our demo ) of another one until January.
