it's a 10 min job to take off the rocker cover and have a look , and send me a picture . he says he has paperwork , check it. i would want to look it it was me ! ( i never issued paperwork for this , but i would put it in the service book )
if it hasn't been done ...budget £1500 off the price.
quite noisy when you start them , should go quiet in 10 secs .
has had a new speedo drive fitted , cos the wire should be hidden away behind the fork leg , or fork seals have been done ? ( look at the black one for correct routing )
H+Becker panniers fitted , i have these on mine.

std silencers were pretty but had a fault ...they crack the mount and....fall off . has a mistral fitted .
IMHO possibly the best engine guzzi have made .
i'm on my 2nd 1200 Sport 2v .

2 keys coded to the dash . THIS IS IMPORTANT , NOT 1 KEY WITH A 2ND CLONED . or have 1 key and the code ( user code not service code ) , you can add more keys @ £90 a key .

part number 3 these need looking at and greasing , easy to change @£220 , if you can get all the bolts out.
drinks fuel@ 40-50 mpg so 240 m/tank if not in town , town work drops to 35-40 mpg .
look up click no start , easily fixed with a fuse holder and 15 mins work. look for a quality fuse holder off the battery going to a relay direct.
water in the dash ? it has had the dash changed under warranty , cos it is black not white .
bubbles in paint caused by ethanol in fuel , tanks get bigger !
headlights are ok in the dark but not brilliant .
these are a guzzi vfr , they don't do anything brilliantly , they do it all well , if that makes sense .
top speed about 135 , but will do 80 all day long.
seats get a bit poor after 10-12k miles
easy to live with , not exciting ....but fun !
change exhaust nuts to SS acorn nut , stock ones will go rusty and look horrid.
torque arms , check front bush is a silent-block bush , if not you will be " feathering " the clutch at low rpm , it will " clack" below 3k.
not had a guzzi before , get an hours ride first , it will be love or hate .
