The Gap Road...

I went out with a small posse of hardy souls last Friday to traverse The Gap and the trail over the top and down to Talybont reservoir. Sadly Dennis (of this parish) and his oppo Dave were busy, but Malcolm & Gerry Dunn, and a mate of a mate, Andy (behind the camera in these photos and wrestling an XL600 on trailwings round!) came out to play. We cut Sarn Helen from our itinerary because the weather was vile - and we missed out on some of the most stunning views in the Beacons due to the fact that we were inside the cloud for most of the day...

It's open to vehicles throughout March, and from 1st September to 15th October...

Brave man on a 1200GS or 650GS, can we send the chopper to winch you out if you get stuck, even the mountain bikers carry and run with their bikes on this one, Mouse

The Gap

Hi all.

Did the Gap in march this year on the ADV, but i cheated, i went down, not up.
Have got up on a GS100 though... I did it one year in October when it was covered in snow, But that was on a girlie lightweight KTM.

Are you kidding? How many times have you been over? You are the daddy of all Welsh guides. Taught me all I know....Dont worry though I kept most of them to myself.

I am going to Llandovery on the w-end of the cambrian, im not entered this year, but some friends are on their GSs.
I will be going on my ADV to have a ride on the blacktop. Not sure yet where to go, may go up and do Clearwen.But I will stay on the smooth stuff for most of the time, sort of sight seeing like a real tourist.

I spoke to Jon last week, he has sold one of his houses. once the money is in the bank hes out to buy an ADV. The old group reforming..great.
