An article in the latest edition of Motorrad magazine, prompted me to look a bit further into this little visited part of Germany.
In my tapping around in Google, I came across the German Fairytale Route, which looks as if it might make an interesting alternative to just “Do the Black Forest, mate”.
This was the article in the magazine. I have missed out the words, as they are all in foreign, but the pictures and the map work well:

The link takes you to the German Ride magazine’s quarterly publication, where you can download the routes;

It’s not far from the Hook of Holland:

It was when Googling the town of Bodenwerder, to do nothing more than create the rough Google Map route from Holland, that I tripped over the German Fairytale Route:

www.deutsche-maerchenstrasse.com
The entire route is a long way!

It would make a great two to three week holiday.

More than 60 places and regions are connected like colored pearls by the red thread of the route.
It would make a great two to three week holiday.
