At last, this has now gone to a carbon fibre specialist for repair. Hope to get it back next week.:thumb

I have tasked SWMBO with the mugs. They are not cheap though..around £10each + postage.

service costs .

hi yonkyo
just got my hp2 on the way , 30000 mile service seems ridiculous ,what do they do for the money , race car would be cheaper to service . have you got the belly pan now fixed ? . lot of places now working with carbon fibre .

not to sure about the service 30k cost, but i dont think i'll see that mileage on my HP2S for a long time.:augie

I'm hoping to get the belly pan back next week, so i'm looking forward to getting the bike back on the road.

When do you get your bike then, is it soon?:thumb

bike

hi yonkyo
the bike is being pdi'd tommorrow sat ,insured today ,so hopefully wednesday next week , hope i done the right thing ,was pleased with the r 1200s .traded it in with a aprillia tuono as well for this hp2 . kept the tuono for 4 years . lot of surf board manufacturers are now using carbon fibre for the boards so miner damage should be ok to get repaired if the uneventful should happen:eek:,been checking out all the pics for the last few days ,lost a lot of sleep now .:blast.bet it rains the day i pick it up .
pb:beerjug:

its all good news on here :drool i have just had confermation that mine as arrived and sat in its crate in the shop told can pick up next thursaday, roll on the good times

awsome...

took delivery of mine from Jeffries end of last week and the day after did 300 miles on A roads in the Lakes and ended over in Hexham after a blast on the A686. I reach the ripe old age of 50 this year after riding since i was 16, this bike made feel 16 again, its by some margin the best bike i have ever ridden and worth every penny. The handling is so precise you almost 'think' it round corners, it doesnt want for any more power, 130BHP is just fine and i was really surprised just how much torque there is. After 300 miles...not an ache...well thats not actaully true my jaw ached...i have grinned so much for years! Stunning...roll on summer!:JB

Just wait till it’s fully loose and run-in, so you can open her up proper…

Well I guess I'm the oldest of you guys - I am 66 in August:D I don't feel any different from when I had a new BSA Rocket Gold Star back in 1962 but I certainly notice the difference in this HP2 Sport. BEST bike I have ever owned. I sure know you are going to enjoy your new toys.:Motomartin

whaaa ,sleep deprivation

hi yonkyo & all
its been real bad today .can't concentrate on anything .12 hours to go and i'm on the way ... think i need some anesthetic ((BEER )):augie. starting to look like a zombie with lack of sleep ,if it was a car ,would not be bothered .crossing fingers its not raining ,else tears .the bike has a lot to live up to after riding the aprilia factory tuono for 4 years and the ktm 950 , both awesome machines ,mind you the gs1200 is almost as good as the ktm , just not so nimble , both have + & - points .... , so a evening now of sweaty armpits and the fidgets :blast. ,not going to work tomorrow ,have'nt had a day off since xmas .... .
i shall do a post tomorrow eve on the progress of riding the bike .... and first thoughts , probably go and drop it on the deck out side the house :eek

BIKE RIDE

hi all
well after getting up at 5.55 am this morning ,rolling around the bed all night .
was ready in a flash , took the van to pick the bike up ,got home at 5.30 had to wait then for somebody to help me unload .6.30 off i went .
first impressions were .
seat like a plank ,its not a gs . mirrors = dire ,might as well be not on there ,bike then cut out dead ... emm good start .a mile up the road it warmed up and gave it a few more beans , emm feels good sounds much more aggressive than the r1200s ,lot more responsive for sure .twin cam motor .
sound good ,started popping back when i shut the throttle .its louder than i thought ,not complaining ,used to riding around with no baffles on the v twins . next b roads took a few sweepers and the thoughts were wow this does feel good , tyres now warmed and felt a bit more planted ,tried the abs out ,it worked a treat ,tyres screamed on the road for a split second ,breaks are good ,used to mono blocks anyway after the aprilia and ktm 950 sm . well impressed with the bike so far .. after 35 miles stopped for a few pints ,joke , would piss myself from the cold eh . i was freezing ,did not put a lot on tee shirt and leathers . only went to go for a short spin ... anyway got back on and hit some a roads , big long straights and then some nice 60mph corners .. the bike handles like a dream .very neutral handling bike , better again than the r1200s which are great anyway . total different position when on . the plank seat was great then to hang off a little. done another 30 miles home then .be good to have it run in .when i got back, i could smell oil ,i will check it out tomorrow . tyres have almost gone to the edge already ,k3s . they felt great and were quite hot for a cold evening . tomorrow going to fit some axle sliders to save forks ,hopefully will never have to use them . also gone to fit a rg axle slider, and a battery lead . forgot a top box and panniers + rack .....NOT.
so overall well pleased ,tried to put a pic up but i have not subscribed .
